LOL! Jessica Simpson is right up there with another mum of a wee baby – Amy Schumer – when it comes to candid glimpses of new mum life. Her latest Instagram post is further proof.

Cankles!

Jess and her hubby Eric Johnson are mum and dad to three-month-old daughter Birdie, six-year-old daughter Maxwell and five-year-old son Ace.

Jess had a pretty difficult pregnancy with bronchitis, insomnia, heartburn and anxiety wreaking havoc. She was hospitalised at one point, taking the time to pop up on social media and reassure fans that her baby was “doing amazing” and she was on the mend too.

Adding insult to pesky injury, Jess’s legs and ankles swelled up quite drastically, prompting her to put a call out on Instagram asking for de-puffing advice.

“Any remedies? Help!” she wrote back in January.

Other women had plenty of ideas on keeping this uncomfortable swelling at bay, and Jess eventually turned to Chinese cupping to get things back on an even keel (it worked brilliantly – temporarily at least – which surprised us!)

“I spy …”

Now Jess is celebrating not only the three-month milestone of her baby girl Birdie’s life, but also the fact that she’s starting to recognise her own legs again.

Sharing a shot on Instagram, a jubilant Jess wrote  – “I spy….my ankles!!!!”

Her ankles are indeed utterly resplendent in the photo and Jess’s friends and followers were as keen to welcome them back as the mum-of-three was.

“Theyโ€™re back !!!!” Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards wrote.

“And some other good business …” comedian Chelsea Handler observed.

“Iโ€™m still swollen and my daughter is ten,” another impressed follower posted.

“Baby showers are nice but to be honest moms should get parties for this too,” another follower quipped.

Honestly? That seems like a brilliant idea to us and we’re a bit miffed we didn’t think of it first.
