Hello baby Max! Singer Natalie Imbruglia has welcomed her first child
Australian favourite Natalie Imbruglia announced that she was pregnant back in July, explaining that modern medicine – aka IVF – and a sperm donor had helped her to conceive at 42.
Welcome Max Valentine Imbruglia
This week the Torn singer and former Neighbours star revealed she’d given birth, sharing a photo of her new baby on Instagram.
“Welcome to the world … Max Valentine Imbruglia. My heart is bursting. #myboy” an obviously elated Natalie captioned the image of herself holding baby Max’s tiny hand.
Max is wearing a very fetching striped onesie adorned with a whole bunch of brightly coloured rainbows, his tiny fingers contrasting with his mum’s grown-up ones.
We don’t get to see the little guy’s face, but that’s understandable in these privacy-aware times.
Natalie’s friends and followers were delighted that this little boy had arrived. They shared congratulatory messages in the comments on Nat’s Instagram.
“Welcome Max and congratulations Nat!” Neighbours co-alum Kylie Minogue posted.
“Yay!!! Hello, max! Welcome indeed. So glad you’re here safe and sound. Congratulations, mama!!” Sophie Ellis Bextor wrote.
“Congratulations!!!! What a lucky boy to have you as a mumma. Sending love to you both xxxx,” actor and Survivor Australia winner and mum-of-two Pia Miranda wrote.
“I’m blessed that this is possible”
When she announced her pregnancy earlier this year, Natalie admitted that parenthood had been on her agenda for many, many years. She was transparent about how she achieved her mum life dream, noting she was “blessed”.
“No I haven’t swallowed a watermelon,” she quipped on Insta. “I’m expecting my first child this Autumn.”
“For those of you that know me, this has been something I have wanted for a very long time and I’m blessed that this is possible with the help of IVF and a sperm donor,” she explained.
“I won’t be saying anything more on that publicly. I’m so excited about this next adventure … a new album and I’m going to be a mum!”
She was indeed – and now that baby Max has joined her, it’s clear she could not be happier.
Huge congratulations to Natalie on this exciting turn of events. Welcome Max!
