When new mum Renata Freydin was flipping through her husband’s baby album she came across one particular image that made her jaw drop.

His father’s son!

Being much more observant than her hubby, she followed the (admittedly very short) trail of clues and quickly realised that there was something amazing afoot.

Writing on Facebook, Renata explained that her baby boy had arrived 10 weeks ahead of time (and is doing very well) but he has more in common with his daddy than some matching genes.

“Last Sunday, he dug out his baby book to show me,” Renata explains.

It turns out that David – Renata’s husband – was also born six weeks early! But that’s not the only similarity.

“As I was looking through, I came across a picture of him as a baby and a lady holding him. I knew that lady!!,” Renata continues.

“I immediately asked him who she was and he confirmed that she was the nurse who took care of him during his stay in the NICU and his mom loved her so much that she needed a photo of the two of them on the day he was discharged!”

“The reason I know her is because I swore she was the nurse that had been taking care of our baby boy for the past three days!” Renata writes.

Same-same, but different

They took the photo into the hospital and a bunch of other nurses confirmed that the nurse who cared for David — the legendary Lissa McGowan — was still working and was indeed caring for David and Renata’s newborn too.

So as many of you may know, our son was born 10 weeks early at St. Peters hospital and has been in the NICU ever since…

“We had to recreate the picture!” Renata wrote on Facebook alongside the matchy-matchy photos.

“The past 2 weeks have been filled with worries and uncertainty but we can breathe easy knowing my lil nuggets nurse is the same one that helped the man I love when he was in the same situation.”

What a gorgeous story – and what a brilliant long-serving nurse, too! #GoLissa

“This is amazing!!!!”

People on Facebook loved the heck out of Renata’s update.

“Oh this is amazing!!!! Crying happy tears and wishing soooooo much happiness with your lil Nugget!!!” one posted.

“God sent her to take care of your husband now she is back to take care of your son,” another commenter asserted.

“God bless all the nurses in the world,” another follower summed-up.

Couldn’t have said it better ourselves!
