Lovely photos show how besotted Ricky Martin and his hubby are with dad life
Ricky Martin is dad to three beautiful kids with partner Jwan Yosef. Ten-year-old twin boys Matteo and Valentino, and newborn daughter Lucia.
“Daddy’s little girl”
Lucia’s birth was announced on New Year’s Eve 2018 after Ricky had hinted on Instagram that the pair had been working on a special project.
“It was a big surprise for a lot of people, to be honest,” he told Extra host Mario Lopez. He’d previously told Andy Cohen that one benefit of surrogacy has been selecting the sex of their kids.
“It’s funny because the way we do babies, I get to choose the sex,” Ricky said during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “So definitely girls are coming.”
“Since my twins were born, I wanted Daddy’s little girl. I want a big family, we want a big family. It’s been beautiful,” Ricky continued, revealing that three kids was only the start of their surrogacy journey.

“Beyond happy”
“We are beyond happy to announce that we have become parents to a beautiful and healthy baby girl, Lucia Martin-Yosef,” Ricky posted on Instagram on the last day of last year as he announced Lucia had arrived.
“It has been a special time for us and we can’t wait to see where this stellar baby will take us. Both her beautiful brothers, me and Jwan have fallen in love with Lucia.”
Last week Ricky shared a glimpse of his big star/dad life reality. A photo uploaded to Instagram showed him jiggling Lucia’s pram as he got his hair done ahead of the Golden Globes award ceremony.
“#Multitasking Getting ready for the @goldenglobes #goldenglobes2019 #acsversace,” he captioned the shot. The dad-of-three starred in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story – which went on to snaffle two Golden Globe awards.
“I do want a big family”
Ricky says having a family makes him feel free – and that he and Jwan have big plans.
“My kids ask me about having two daddies, and I tell them we are a part of a modern family. This is a beautiful sense of freedom.”
“I want four more pairs of twins,” he told E!News in January of 2108 just before he and Jwan married.
“I do want a big family, but there’s a lot going on at the moment. A lot of work, wedding, so we’re going to put things in order first and then we’re going to get ready for many more kids.”
The couple have certainly stayed true to their word on the “more kids” bit because HELLO LUCIA. Not sure about the four more pairs of twins! Watch this space!
