Back in September a bunch of photos of Lara Worthington sporting a tiny baby bump made their way to the press, and fans were delighted by this news of baby number three.

“Building a football team”

You may know that Lara and her husband actor Sam Worthington are already parents to two gorgeous little boys – four-year-old Rocket and three-year-old Racer.

Despite this bump-photo leak, the notoriously private couple did not confirm they were expecting again. Well … not until this week.

Lara’s back in Australia for work and has just updated Vogue Australia on what’s going on at Chez Worthington, giving them the scoop on this pregnancy confirmation. She’s also revealed the sex of the incoming bub and a rough due date.

“Yes, I’m pregnant!” she told the magazine, clearly totally chuffed to be speaking openly about her lovely news. “I’m having a boy, early next year!”

“It’s my third boy,” Lara continued, “and we’re all very excited and very happy.”

“I think any addition brings joy and happiness to the family, but more so when you can share it with the other boys. It’s such a boy’s club in my house!”

“They think it’s cool!”

Lara told Vogue that her preschool-aged sons are really looking forward to having a baby brother.

“They think it’s cool,” she said.

That said they’re apparently not completely sold on the whole pregnancy thing.

“We talk about it a lot because I have spent a lot of time in bed recently. And they’re like, ‘What are you doing?!’”

Lara says the idea of yet another boy is not phasing her at all, and her kiddos are as thrilled as she is.

“All boys, I think, want a brother. So another brother … you know, it’s building the football team. They’re excited!”
