Ed Sheeran and wife Cherry expecting first baby – and it’s just weeks away
Congratulations to UK singer Ed Sheeran and wife, high school crush, Cherry Seaborn, who are said to be just weeks away from welcoming their first baby!
Ed and Cherry have a history of keeping their relationship out of the spotlight: they married in a small ceremony at his estate in Framlingham in December 2018, and have kept the pregnancy news secret during the COVID-19 lockdown in the UK.
A source told The Sun, “Ed and Cherry are over the moon. They’re very excited, but have kept things very low key … Lockdown was a perfect excuse not to be seen out and about too much, but things are getting closer and the excitement has been building so they have started telling friends and family.”

While Ed and Cherry have kept the pregnancy news on the down-low, eagle-eyed fans have noted that the final video on Ed’s collaborations project, posted to his Instagram on December 22, 2019 could have been a subtle announcement that he is going to be a dad!
New tattoo to mark the occasion
Ed is known for his love of body art. He got the word ‘red’ tattooed on his body in honour of his transformative tour with pal Taylor Swift, and even has a tattoo to celebrate his passion for tomato sauce.
According to The Mirror, the singer has already marked out places on his body to celebrate his future children with tattoos.
The Daily Mail reported in March that Ed wants a house full of kids and has a tattoo on his back with five rings; each ring a placeholder to be filled in by tattoos of his children’s palms when they’re born.
He had a crush on Cherry when they were in high school
Ed and Cherry were high school friends, but Ed admitted to The Sun, that though they didn’t get together until 2015, he had a crush on her when they were teenagers. “I’ve known Cherry for a while but we like rekindled our friendship and then started dating and then she exercises a lot so I started going on runs with her. She eats quite healthily. So I started eating quite healthily with her. She doesn’t drink that much so I wasn’t drinking. That will change things.”
She stays calm during his panic attacks
The singer also credits his wife as being a calming influence on him when he finds himself overwhelmed.
“Because Cherry’s good with it like sometimes she’ll be like, ‘Cool. Yeah, we’ll leave,’ but sometimes I am just being paranoid. We went away for our wedding anniversary and we sat in this restaurant in Venice.”

“And I remember as soon as I got in, I was like, ‘Get me the f* out of here’. And she was just like, ‘No one’s f**** looking at you. No one wants anything. There’s just old people chilling, they’re having their coffees.’ And then after five minutes, everything was calm. And I was like, ‘OK, yeah, actually, that was probably good’.”
