Rachel McAdams welcomes her first baby
The Notebook and Mean Girls star Rachel McAdams and her boyfriend Jamie Linden are parents, welcoming a baby boy.

Rachel and Jamie have been dating for over a year and kept their pregnancy private, with many fans not even realising they were expecting.
Professionally, Rachel’s been skipping red carpet events since September of last year, keen to navigate this transformative time away from the media’s prying eyes. Rumours did swirl, of course, as the pair were apparently spotted out to dinner with a possible bump.
A very recent and quite intrusive paparazzi photo of the couple strolling with their newborn is being seen as pretty conclusive confirmation that two had become three.

Jamie who?
But who even IS this Jamie Linden, we hear you ask, and what’s he doing with our Rachel?!
Well, he’s an American screenwriter and apparently he used to date Zooey Deschanel. Jamie wrote the films We Are Marshall and Dear John and an indie flick starring Channing Tatum (called 10 Years).
When Jamie’s not snuggling his brand new baby boy and hanging with Rach, he’s penning a biographical film about American Olympic champion skier, Bill Johnson. He’s also working on a film adaptation of bestselling novel The Dogs of Babel and basically has a lot going on!
“My mom is a great inspiration to me”
Back in 2009 Rachel told People Magazine she was keen to become a parent when the time was right. Her own mother is her number one hero in the ace mum stakes.
“Having a few [kids] would be great,” Rachel said, noting that she’s “looking forward to it someday.”
“My mom is a great inspiration to me. She’s a nurse and very nurturing and gentle. She lets me be who I am. Hopefully I can take on those qualities and be as great as her.”
No details about the baby’s date of birth or name have been released, as yet.
