Hilary Duff shares new photos of her backyard wedding — and they’re adorable
Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma got married last week in a surprise ceremony in the garden of the pair’s Los Angeles home.
The perfect day
The couple’s one-year-old daughter Banks Violet and Hilary’s eight-year-old son Luca were among the wedding party, which was attended by a small contingent of close friends and family.
The Lizzie McGuire star announced her engagement back in May and the couple have clearly been stealthily working on this private wedding ever since.
People magazine revealed a little more about the shindig and it sounds like a very relaxed and loved-up affair.
“The wedding was at her house. It was small and low-key. Only family and close friends,” People reported.
“The ceremony started at sunset and they got married inside the house. When the ceremony was over, guests cheered. The reception was in a white tent in the backyard.”
Hilary carried baby Banks down the aisle, while Luca accompanied his step-dad Matthew to the altar.
“Truly sad this day went by so quickly,” Hilary captioned a photo of her whole family in their wedding finery and it’s not hard to see why.
Toddlers will be toddlers
Banks did not take the festivities in her stride, until the moment that mattered most.
“Little girl cried up until we opened the front door and she knew we were walking towards her daddy and bruvvah,” she wrote alongside another gorgeous shot showing the bride and toddler daughter making their entrance as guests look on.
In the new photos Hilary shared, everyone looks absolutely delighted to be part of these backyard vows, and the Younger star’s home looks pretty delightful too.
“Really special”
Hilary told Vogue that her sleek Jenny Packham dress embodied everything about how she wanted to look on her big day.
“I really want to feel like myself, but also how I envisioned he would see me,” Hilary said.
“The end result … is exactly how I wanted him to see me. I think it’s how he would envision what I would look like as a bride. It’s really special.”
