Actor Mila Kunis and her husband Ashton Kutcher are parents to two preschool-aged children. The couple’s son, Dimitri is three and their daughter, Wyatt is now five.

“Use your real voice!”

Speaking to new podcast Teach Me Something New, the pair chatted about work-life balance and about how they’ve adapted to the biggest role of all – parenting.

Turns out that the couple have some very hardcore critics living under their roof. For instance when Ashton tries to bring Daddy Pig to life while reading Peppa Pig bedtime stories, his daughter is just NOT here for it.

“I sometimes try to read our daughter’s books in the characters’ voices, and [Wyatt is] like, ‘Dad, can you just use your real voice?’ ” Ashton revealed, People reports.

“I’ll do Peppa Pig with an English accent. And then Daddy Pig, the whole thing. And she’s like, ‘Dad, just do your regular voice’.”

This is not the first time Ashton’s drawn the withering judgement of his eldest child. There was that other time when he made ‘Paw Patrol pancakes’ and they fell flatter than … well … a pancake!

“Very goofy parents”

Mila says this is pretty typical of their approach to parenting, noting they are “silly at home” and “very goofy parents when it comes to our children.”

She suggests they simply “don’t have skill” in the parenting department, but perhaps they’re simply learning on their feet like the rest of us? It certainly makes for a fun time at Chez Kutcher-Kunis, from all accounts.

“I think we’re very comfortable with ourselves acting a fool at home, but maybe that comes from the idea of being comfortable in your own body, and in your own skin, and in your mind and not having a fear of making a fool of yourself,” Mila suggests.

Get real, please

While Peppa Pig has its place, five-year-old Wyatt actually loves to hear stories about her parents’ lives.

“[She] now knows everything about us,” Mila says. “I mean, literally, she’s like, ‘Tell me a story from your life?’ But then after a while, you run out of stories.”

At this point Ashton steps in to save the day by “creating stories from real life. Because you literally run out of stories,” Mila explains.

Clearly Wyatt has no time for anyone’s nonsense.
