Baby makes 7: Constance Hall and Denim Cooke welcome their first child together

Author and blogger Constance Hall – and her fella Denim Cooke – have welcomed a dear little baby boy to the world.

Welcome

Constance has been more than ready for this little guy – since the pair first got together, in fact!

(She was most certainly ready for him to make his appearance over the last couple of days, too …)

“The minute your dad and I got together we knew you were coming. We talked about you, joked about you and even picked out some names,” Constance wrote on Sunday, ahead of a scheduled c-section.

On Monday Constance posted a final baby bump shot – and nekminnit … a wee baby boy! #SortOf #OkayNotSoWee!

“Raja. Born at 2.46pm 38 weeks 4.2kgs We couldn’t have dreamt a more perfect baby … We are blown away with support from you all,” Denim posted on behalf of the pair on Constance’s Instagram a short while ago.

Constance is also mum to Rumi, Snow, Arlo Love and Billie-Violet with her previous partner. 

Denim, is also dad to boys, Sunny and Zeyke – and he was obviously hands (and scrubs) on at the birth.

Dear baby in my belly. Tomorrow we get to meet you. And here’s a couple of things I want you to know. The minute your dad and I got together we knew you were coming, We talked about you, joked about you and even picked out some names. Your dad told me he’d had a sign from the gods… I smiled, took another sip from my wine and proceeded to comb out his dreadlocks. We don’t know anything about you, you might be wild and challenging of everything society throws at you like us or you might wear a suit, brush your hair and get 4 degrees. You might be a tough and tumble sporty boy like your dad or an emotional artsy person like your mum. Or you could always be both.. You might even decide you don’t want to be a boy. We don’t care. We just want you. But what I do know is that last night your dad told me that the hardest park of this extremely painful pregnancy for him has been watching me in pain and not be able to take that pain away from me and swap it for himself. And that’s what I want for you, deep meaningful connections with your friends, your siblings, us, your dog, a lover.. don’t settle until you find someone who’s hurt hurts you and who’s smile makes you laugh. We don’t own our kids, you’ve just entrusted us to guide and protect you for a while. And we will do that. This huge chaotic family of soon 7 kids, 2 dog and 2 madly in love parents has a place for everyone. Your place for the time being is in my arms. And I simply cannot wait to sniff you tomorrow. The pair announced their pregnancy late last year, in true Constance style.

“The commune is welcoming another baby,” Constance posted to her Facebook page, admitting that she and Denim had “no idea how it slipped through” putting unsuitable or downright painful contraception as possible causes.

“We are not ready for this and I am petrified, babies terrify me. But are we happy? Pigs in shit,” she wrote.

“I love this mother f*cker [Denim!], with every inch of my bloated body, we are our kids biggest fans and we don’t see the harm in putting a new little soul right in the middle of it all. Expect complaining … a lot of complaining. Baby number 7 is due sometime around June …”

New beginnings

Lots of other big life changes followed, in the wake of the baby news, including a commitment ceremony where Denim and Con celebrated their commitment to each other, an ever-expanding fashion line and a brand new book, the follow-up to her best-selling debut Like A Queen.

“From the bottom of my heart. I’ve never been this happy in my life,” Constance wrote on social media after she and Denim exchanged rings in front of family and close friends.

Everyone’s story is different

It’s clear that this big blended family are utterly stoked to be bundled together, and are a perfect example of how life/relationships can challenge and shift quickly; that happiness matters; and that if someone else’s happiness looks different to yours – good on them!

This gang are also obviously over the moon about their newest recruit – baby Raja.

A huge congratulations to Constance, Denim, Sunny, Zeyke, Rumi, Snow, Arlo Love and Billie-Violet on the arrival of this fresh little guy!
