YESSS! In one cute cartoon, this mum totally nails why we all feel like utter crap in the morning after a night with the baby.

“I was having a hard time finding the words”

When breastfeeding mum, Mattea Goff wanted to explain to her husband, Kris, why she is so moody in the morning, she struggled to find the words.

The baby grogginess had gotten the better of her (we hear you Mattea!), so she decided she’d be better using pictures rather than trying to construct actual sentences.

“So I sat down with my coffee and drew him a visual,” she says.

So this past weekend I was having a hard time finding the words (probably because I haven't had any sleep) to express to…

Useless nipples

In the first picture, Mattea explains to Kris that he has “useless nipples”. As such, she’s the one who wakes and tends to their baby while Kris snoozes on when bub wails for a feed two hours after they hit the hay.

Slap, slap SLAP!

Then while feeding their bundle of love, Mattea explains that breastfeeding isn’t the relaxing experience he may think it is. Slap. Slap. Slap. Again, Kris snoozes on.

“I need to clean that up”

In the next visual Mattea shows how she is not only slapped but also scratched as she thinks to herself that she needs to cut their baby’s nails. This is right before bub fills the room with that distinctive baby poo smell. Oh and Kris snoozes on while she does a nappy change.

How can she be so sweaty?

The next one shows Mattea shivering outside of the blankets and wondering why her baby is so hot. Kris, meanwhile, sleeps cosily under the doona.

“Good morning, let’s cuddle!”

In the final cute stick drawing, Kris stretches and greets his partner, “Good morning honey, isn’t sleeping in great? Let’s cuddle!” he says. But he is greeted by a spent Mattea, who doesn’t have the words, and may also secretly want to smother Kris with a pillow.

Oh and he still has “useless nipples.”

Hahahaha! Well ‘said’ Mattea!
