Some nosy people think Duchess Kate’s hair proves she’s pregnant again
If you are the Duchess of Cambridge and married to the future king of England, pregnancy speculation is apparently part of the job.
Watching the bump-watchers
No matter that Kate is very busy with work and has already got three young children – six-year-old Prince George, four-year-old Princess Charlotte and one-year-old Prince Louis. There’s no time like the present for some royal watchers who are waiting for Kate to have another baby and watching her like a hawk for proof of pregnancy.
The latest theory is that Kate MUST be pregnant because … she’s changed her hair. Those pushing this theory say that every time Kate’s made a dramatic change to her hair, it’s indicated a pregnancy.
Kate did update her usually long, dark hair quite drastically this month. She debuted new shorter, lighter locks as she accompanied Princess Charlotte to her first day of school and that was all the royal rumour mill needed to kick into overdrive.
And here’s Kate just a week or so earlier.
The last time Kate cut her hair shorter like this was when she was pregnant with Prince Louis. (Below)
And here she is a month earlier …
And just before she announced she was pregnant with Prince George, she cut her hair dramatically again, adding a fringe.
So what about when she was pregnant with Princess Charlotte? Well this is where the theory falls down a titch because she kept her hair the same and in fact let her regrowth grow out a centimetre or so.
None of our beeswax?
We’re not really sure this pattern is a pattern, but some royal fans seem to think so. Perhaps Kate cuts her hair when she’s pregnant with a boy? Perhaps this is a coincidence? Perhaps we should mind out own beeswax? We think the latter!
Kate has made it clear that she loves babies and has spoken of being broody before. And while she’s certainly in a position to add another child practically, because she’s got lots of help on hand, the physical realities are a whole other challenge.
A much clearer indicator of pregnancy for the Duchess is that she gets very unwell every time she does fall pregnant.
Kate suffered from the serious pregnancy complication hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) with every pregnancy. This had her bedridden and even hospitalised in those early weeks and months.
At the moment Kate is glowing with good health which would perhaps indicate she’s not pregnant at the moment.
Whatever her pregnancy situation – we hope she a) stays that way and b) announces any future family plans in her own way, in her own good time.
