Mum somehow managed to photograph the exact moment her baby was born
We know multitasking comes naturally to mums, but this story is next level.
The very first moment, literally
First-time mum Megan Mattiuzzo balanced a camera on her belly to capture the moment her baby Easton emerged into the world.
Like, literally, the very first moment.
Posting to Instagram, Megan wrote: “We welcomed baby Easton into the world yesterday at 9pm … And yes I photographed his first breath from my perspective.”
“My epidural didn’t work”
Megan is a wedding photographer, which means she’s probably used to working under pressure – but that doesn’t mean this manoeuvre was easy.
And to further complicate things, Megan’s birth wasn’t straightforward either:
“My epidural didn’t work … I wanted to pass out and thought I was going to throw up but I wanted this since I found out I was pregnant. I wasn’t going to not try and then regret it.”

The photo speaks for itself
Luckily, Megan’s professional skills kicked in quickly – apparently she asked doctors to fix the lighting in the hospital room, between contractions. And she adjusted the settings on her camera, before handing it to husband Ryan before the final push!
When the moment came, Megan said she balanced the camera on her stomach, looked through the viewfinder and pressed the button as soon as her son emerged.
“I wasn’t sure I would be able to actually pull this off … my pain level at the end was over the limit.”
But the photo speaks for itself. Pure love, right there.
“We are so in love with our Baby Easton!” said Megan.
How beautiful is that?
