Castle and Cubby make the best playhouses in Australia, and they’ve recently been rolling out a clever project where they partner with high profile families to create custom cubbies to suit their unique style.

The latest in these clever mash-ups involves the family behind brilliantly bold fashion label Mister Zimi.
Castle and Cubby have joined forces with the Mister Zimi folk to create a cubby that mimics the family’s gorgeous Byron Bay home.
Photos shared on the Castle and Cubby website detail the customisations that make this playhouse as brilliant and bold as the gang who get to play in it.
“We set about creating a cubby house that mimicked the bungalow’s architectural styling and feel,” C&C says.
“We created a larger size cubby with a slightly overhanging and angled roof, with the main point of difference the addition of the framed awning over the windows and upright posts that mirrored the Bungalow.”
“To finish it off we added in a brand new bi-fold window concept, which we LOVE, and one of our favourite cubby features the barn style doors of course (this one with Z bracing for Zimi).”
The cubby was installed on decking the Zimi family had purpose-built.

The very gorgeous Mister Zimi cubby retails from $4,150, with additional costs for painting, delivery and installation.
It features:
- Fully framed walls and ceiling, with or without a floor. Clad in sustainably sourced pine timber
- Stylish awning framing the large front window
- Bi-fold window shutters to create a unique play experience
- Authentic black barn door sliders with a barn door
- Black corrugated iron pitched roof with iron edging, 2 panels of clear polycarbonate for additional light.
