In the olden days, we spent much less time in front of screens, and a lot more time making (often quite disappointing) use of art and craft materials.
We’re kind of sad that kids these days may never know the pleasure of melting glass beads to boiling point or doodling all our mum’s shirts with puffy paint masterpieces. Okay, maybe we’re not sad at all, actually!

We were very, very much in touch with our spirituality back in Year 4 when wrapping wool around a couple of sticks was the most our fine motor skills could cope with. But so pretty, yes? And if you were really keen, you could knock them out pretty quickly so lucky Mum had MANY to hang around the house.
