Young Prince George will turn six next week and it’s party time at the palace!

Growing up fast!

George was born on 22 July back in 2013 at St Mary’s Lindo Wing in London. Fast forward to now and his mum and dad are throwing him a very normal-sounding 6th birthday party, according to reports.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have gone all out to organise a birthday party for George,” an US Weekly source says, noting that Kate has been chief event planner, but William apparently has had some input too.

It’s hard to believe George – who has a multitude of very adorable nicknames including PC, PG Tips, Tips and Georgie – is almost six years old, right?!

It seems like yesterday he was toddling about in puffy pants and smocked shirts. Soon enough he’ll be in long pants, jacket and tie. #sob

Our invite got lost in the mail

Now, let’s wipe away those nostalgic tears and talk a bit more about George’s party.

So apparently it will all be happening at the family’s city home at Kensington Palace with George’s St Thomas’ Battersea school friends, his siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis … and HOPEFULLY his newborn cousin Archie in attendance.

Naturally this will be a private event, but we can probably expect a new portrait of George to be shared by the royals on Instagram and Twitter, in celebration of this very popular little lad.

Activities at the party will lean toward the classic and the traditional. A bouncy castle will be erected in the palace grounds and William’s sorted a very special entertainer for the bash.

“George loves magic,” the royal source revealed, noting that it was the future king William who was most keen to throw in a celebratory magician. So there will be rabbits in hats and coins behind ears and that sort of thing to delight little guests.

George’s favourite foods

The party food also sounds brilliant and is sure to provide all the energy excited little party guests will need. (Especially with all that jumping and being surprised!)

The royal parents have called in the caterers, requesting all of Prince George’s favourite foods be on the menu.

“Kate’s asked them to make pizza, pasta and sliders,” US Weekly reports.

Apparently dessert will include cupcakes, lollies and ice cream … and birthday cake of course!

Now if only we could score an invite ..!

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share some new photographs of their family as they visited the RHS Back to Nature Garden at the #ChelseaFlowerShow on Sunday afternoon. The photographs were taken by @mattporteous. The #RHSChelsea Back to Nature Garden, designed by The Duchess and award-winning landscape architects Andrée Davies and Adam White of Davies White Landscape Architects, is a woodland setting for families and communities to come together and connect with nature. Her Royal Highness is a strong advocate for the proven benefits the outdoors has on physical and mental health, and the positive impact that nature and the environment can have on childhood development in particular. Over the past months, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have helped The Duchess gather moss, leaves and twigs to help decorate @The_RHS Back to Nature Garden. Hazel sticks collected by the family were also used to make the garden’s den. The Duchess told Monty Don in an interview for the BBC: “I really feel that nature and being interactive outdoors has huge benefits on our physical and mental wellbeing, particularly for young children. I really hope that this woodland that we have created really inspires families, kids and communities to get outside, enjoy nature and the outdoors, and spend quality time together.”
