Kylie Jenner under fire over toddler Stormi’s grown-up Halloween costume
Mum-of-one Kylie Jenner loves sharing photos and video of her one-year-old daughter Stormi on Instagram, but the latest reveals have got a LOT of people hot under the collar.
“I can’t handle this”
With Halloween just around the corner, the KarJenners are kicking into overdrive with multiple costumes at the ready for themselves and their children.
It was one of these costumes that sparked a barrage of criticism aimed at Kylie. She dressed Stormi in a teeny sized-down replica of one of her Met Gala gowns.
“My baby!!!!!!!!” a very excited Kylie captioned the album of Stormi’s first 2019 Halloween costume. “I can’t handle this!!!!”
The gown is not really a Disney Princess type number, but rather a mauve faux-strapless number featuring mesh and ostrich feather detail – see below.
The jury is out
Kylie’s followers were pretty divided over whether this outfit was appropriate. Some LOVED it:
“So cuuuute!” fashion doyenne Donatella Versace posted – and other high profile types like Paris Hilton, Sofia Richie and Vera Wang agreed.
But many others suggested that Kylie dressing her daughter as a mini-me was a pretty questionable act – and that this costume was a little too grown-up:
“Iām sorry but wtf is this?” one posted alongside the photos and video of Stormi.
“This is one of the most narcissistic things I have seen in a long time,” another wrote.
“Kid looks miserable in horrible costume. Nothing to do with Halloween and always about you. Sad,” someone else declared.
“OMG could you please stop doing these things to your child … she doesn’t even like it,” another Kylie follower posted.
Clearly Kylie thought this costume was hilarious, as did many of her friends and fans. And for what it’s worth Stormi does look a little unsure, but also keen to please her mum.
She’s not entirely miserable in this get-up, it should be noted. But maybe a little bit?
