You’re welcome! The Rock’s daughter has no idea he’s the star of her fave movie
One of the nicer parts of the lockdowns occurring across the world is the chance to see inside the lives of some of our fave celebs, as they take to social media to keep in touch with fans and – like the rest of us – stay sane.
They’re sharing live workouts, music videos and funny Tik Toks, but our absolute favourite thing to see is celeb parents sharing the ups and downs of parenthood – especially the adorably hilarious stuff.
The Rock’s nightly daddy-daughter performance
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is dad to three beautiful girls – 18-year-old Simone, four-year-old Jasmine and two-year-old Tiana Gia (affectionately nicknamed Tia) – and he has jumped on the bandwagon, sharing cute videos and pics of his girls on his Instagram account.
With strict quarantine rules in place due to the coronavirus pandemic, not even The Rock is immune to the cabin-fever feels we’re all experiencing, revealing, “I have no idea what day it is anymore, but I am sure it’s one that ends with Y. To all the mama and papa bears out there going thru it – we understand. 24hr parenting. Get your sleep and cocktails when you can.”
Thank you, Dwayne. Don’t mind if we do!
This week, the undeniable star of the show is little Tia. The Rock shared two super-cute videos of Tia and him singing along to what is obviously a fave movie – none other than Moana, the animated musical starring The Rock as the voice of mischievous demigod, Maui.
Tia is clearly a huge fan of her dad’s signature song, ‘You’re Welcome’, singing along very well for such a wee tot and insisting on hearing her dad sing the song each night before bed.
He captioned his post: “And for the 1,927th time I will sing “You’re Welcome” to baby Tia as part of our nightly daddy/daughter negation to go to bed! It. Never. Ends. 🎶💤😩😂”
Boy, do we know these feels! It seems even celebrity kids need umpteen songs, stories and cuddles before they’ll concede defeat and go to sleep!
The cutest part is that Tia doesn’t seem to have figured out that her dad is actually the voice of Maui yet!
“For the record, she still has no idea that her daddy is actually, “Maui” from Moana. 😂🤷🏽♂️”, he revealed.
We hope we get to see the moment that the penny finally drops for little Tia – it’s bound to blow her tiny mind!
A bit like the time my five-year-old son realised that there were pictures of me on our local theatre’s walls, where I stomped the amateur theatre boards during my teens and 20s. He asked, “OMG Mum, were you an actor?? You must be FAMOUS!” and proceeded to tell his friends and teachers at school that his mum was a ‘famous actor’. See? Totally the same. 😂
We can’t wait for the next instalment of the Tia and The Rock show. What. A. CUTIE!
