The new Netflix show your kids (and you) will obsess over
Hallelujah! A new TV show that music-loving kids AND parents will adore.
Motown Magic is the next series that will surely be a fast favourite in your groovy household.
Classic-era Detroit soul music is the basis of this animated children’s adventure series, where the imaginative protagonist, Ben, tries to transform his city by bringing colourful street art to life. He and his friends often run into challenges, but with the magic of music and storytelling, they can overcome them.
The executive music producer is none other than Motown legend, Smokey Robinson. You’d know the song he wrote for The Temptations, My Girl? So you bet your bottom dollar that the tunes are good in this series. Songs like ABC, You Really Got a Hold on Me and Dancing in the Street play a starring role.
The show’s designed to spark a love for ‘60s music in littlies, and have it live on throughout their lives, says creator Josh Wakely, who’s also behind the Netflix hit Beat Bugs.
