Another year, another collectables campaign, right? But move over all those landfill-destined plastic collectables, Coles are going for a much more sustainable and fun approach this year, launching a brand new set of collectables to encourage little Aussie readers!

This year, Coles are introducing Coles Little Treehouse collectable book series, based on the much-loved Treehouse books by Australian author, Andy Griffiths and illustrator, Terry Denton.

Hugely popular with young Australian readers already, the original Treehouse books have sold more than 10 million copies in Australia and won a plethora of awards, which makes them the perfect choice to foster a love of reading in our kiddos.

Fave characters brought to life

Featuring pocket-sized books based on all your favourite Treehouse characters, the collectable series is aimed at encouraging a lifelong love of reading with new titles like Jill’s Little Big Book of Animals, Madam Know-it-all’s Believe-it-or-not Book, Vegetable Patty and Elephant on a Bicycle. Each book also includes additional pages of activities and jokes for extra entertainment.

In keeping with the sustainable theme, the paper and packaging used to produce the books are FSC responsibly sourced and can be recycled at home like any paper product. Brilliant!

Coles Little Treehouse collectable book series

Author Andy Griffiths, a passionate advocate for children’s literacy, says, “We are truly excited to be able to share the Coles Little Treehouse book series with the children of Australia. We have always been committed to creating books that capture the hearts, minds and funny bones of children in order to foster a life-long love of reading.

“This partnership with Coles means children across the country will be able to collect a miniature library of books aimed specifically at encouraging them to read. It’s an unprecedented literacy initiative and we’re delighted to be working with Coles to deliver such a significant and tangible benefit to the kids of Australia.”

Collect them all!

“Sharing books as a family is not only a profoundly pleasurable experience,” Andy says, “it’s also a powerful introduction to the wonder of books. One of the features that we are most proud of with the Treehouse Series — apart from the fact that they appeal equally to both boys and girls — is that they are capable of being enjoyed by the whole family.”

Starting today and running for 8 weeks or while stock lasts, there are 24 mini-books to collect, with one on offer with every $30 spent in one transaction at Coles supermarkets, Coles Express and Coles Online. Collector’s Cases will be available for $5 for avid readers wanting to complete their full book series.

Copies of the original Treehouse Series books will also be on sale from $4 to $8 each at all Coles supermarkets during the collectable period.

Happy reading!
