Ed Sheeran responds to his baby lookalike with three carefully chosen words
Superstar singer Ed Sheeran has spilled the beans on his baby doppelgänger – and shared his thoughts on future Ed babies.
Twinning with Ed
You might remember we introduced Babyology readers to little Isla recently? As you can see, Isla really is Ed Sheeran’s tiny and adorable twin.
The little girl became quite the overnight internet sensation, sparking an avalanche of comments across social media and plenty of discussion about a) how off-the-charts cute she is and b) her paternity.
How rude! A besieged and bemused Ed appeared on Good Morning Britain determined to set the record straight about this little girl.
“She’s not mine!”
When host Richard Arnold presented Ed with a photo of baby Isla (aka Baby Ed), the singer responded decisively and firmly.
“She’s not mine!” Ed splutters as Richard tells him Isla’s understandably breaking hearts all over the world.
Tom cheekily points out – as we did- that Isla looks more like Ed than Ed. Ed takes it on the chin, but does seem a tiny bit fed up with the whole thing, especially when the discussion turns to starting a family. Still, the star humoured his host and good-naturedly sharing his thoughts on fatherhood.
“I don’t want to be touring when I have kids,” Sheeran said. “I want to be, like, nipping out every now and then and being able to actually be a father.”
Not right now, thanks
While kids are on the agenda, the 25-year-old reveals that timing is everything.
“I would definitely love all the kids in the world, but I don’t want to have them right now.”
Poor Ed. He must be shaking his head, wondering how a doppelgänger baby forced him to make a public statement about fatherhood.
“It’s mad, the kind of things that go viral,” Sheeran said of the Isla-Ed situation.
