“Everything crumbled”: Jennifer Hawkins talks openly about her miscarriage
During an exclusive interview and breathtaking pre-baby photoshoot with Stellar magazine, Jennifer Hawkins reveals that she and husband Jake Wall experienced a heart-wrenching miscarriage, before falling pregnant with their soon-to-be-born baby girl.
A tough year
Jen and Jake became pregnant last year but unfortunately suffered a devastating miscarriage. In her interview, the former Miss Universe Australia said that when the couple went for their first scan, there was no heartbeat and “everything crumbled”.
Not surprisingly, the experience led to one of the ‘toughest’ years of their lives. “I felt like I almost broke and, in fact, it’s still really raw,” Jen shared.
The future is bright
This year is a very different one to the last with the glowing couple so close to the birth of their baby girl. “I feel so excited and so grateful just to be pregnant and feeling the kicks,’’ Jen said.
Naturally, having already been through the shock of a miscarriage, that first scan was not so easy for the couple.
“When we went to see the heartbeat scan for our little girl, it was the most incredible, overwhelming feeling because prior to that we were so scared.”
Now, just weeks away from giving birth, the future is definitely clearer, brighter and full of hope.

When Jennifer posted the news of the interview on Instagram, with the caption, “I can’t wait to show our daughter these very special images one day!” the messages of love and support flooded in. There were also many comments from those who appreciated Jen’s honesty about her miscarriage and how it made her feel.
“I’ve never met you and haven’t really followed your success but your honest interview really resonated with me,” wrote one Instagram user. “If there’s one thing we have no control of is pregnancy. And pregnancy is what taught me of letting go. Wishing you all the best for a beautiful future.”

Some take conception/pregnancy for granted and don’t appreciate how difficult it can be, even more so in the public eye. Excited new parents-to-be
The model announced her pregnancy back in May with a gorgeous Instagram pic of her and Jake together with an excited and overjoyed caption.
“I’m sooo happy to share with you some exciting news! Jake and I are expecting a baby girl!!! We can’t wait to meet her!” she wrote. “Thank you to our beautiful family and friends for their love and support and, most importantly, to my hubby Jake – I can’t wait to see you as a Daddy!”
And we can’t wait to see what is bound to be an incredibly beautiful baby. Not long now …
