If like me you have a little one starting school in a few weeks but he’s still too young to know how to tie his own shoelaces, then ALDI has come to the rescue!
Right now they have easy-to-put-on (and take off) velcro school shoes, but like anything with ALDI, you better be quick.
Until stocks last
The school shoes are part of their ‘back to school’ buys which are on shelves now (or should I say, plonked in a big basket in the centre aisle), and are only going to be there “until stocks” last. Which translates to, “Until we have sold out and our customers are left feeling disappointed that they rushed down to the store to buy shoes but at least we were able to sell them some milk.”
But the shoes are great!
If you can get to an ALDI ASAP, then I can personally vouch that the shoes are great. I bought the jogger style over the traditional school shoe ones as they looked and felt more comfy to me and a bit more ‘little kiddie’ for a boy transitioning from wearing sandals to kindy to socks and shoes. Also, I just think the old-style shoes make little ones look like future accountants! But that’s just me.
If you like the more traditional style, but want the easy-to-put-on velcro strap, here they are:
The ‘Premium leather joggers’ cost $17.99, while the ‘Premium double strap leather school shoes’ and ‘Premium leather Mary Jane school shoes’ will set you back a whopping $14.99.
Both are made of genuine leather with the joggers featuring a soft outsole and a size adjusting insole. Great for growing feet!
Plus, if you have older kiddos who can tie their own shoelaces, there is also a traditional pair of tie up shoes also for $14.99.
Sizes range from 11-2
If you miss out
If you can’t find your kiddo’s size, don’t fret. I’ve had a look and the velcro strap black-jogger-style school shoes are around elsewhere, just not for the ALDI price tag.
Clarkes do a lovely pair in the jogger style called the ‘Ventura’. RRP $89.95 but I’ve seen these on sale for much less, so have a look around.
Oh, and if you are lucky enough to pile up with ALDI shoe boxes in sizes for future years to come, then also check out the other back to school stuff, including lunchboxes, markers, school bags, socks and more!
Good luck fellow ALDI shopper, and may you not be disappointed by “while stocks last” …
