While all eyes have been on that elusive royal tot Archie, his cousin Princess Charlotte has been quietly making news, in gastronomic circles at least!

Charlotte the foodie

People magazine have lifted the lid on one of Princess Charlotte’s favourite foods, and it’s the very same one her mum loves the best.

How did we find out? Well … you may know that Prince William and Duchess Kate are headed to Pakistan later this month. So, ahead of this official trip they attended an event at the Aga Khan Centre.

They spoke to other attendees about the trip and specifically about how much they were looking forward to … the food!

Kate then noted that while she does love to whip up a curry for her family, she has to make two separate dishes to keep everyone happy. Sound familiar?!

“It’s so hard cooking curry with the family,” Kate told other guests.

“The children have a portion with no spice,” she explains, telling Prince William, “Yours is medium.”

“And I quite like it hot,” she revealed.

Turns out the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

“Charlotte is pretty good with heat,” Kate continued.

“Me and heat not so good,” Will chimed in. “I love spice but not heat.”

“Curry — definitely!”

This isn’t the first time that the Cambridges have spoke of their curry leanings.

Back in April of 2018, they told BBC Radio One that they like nothing better than putting on “comfy clothes”, ordering takeaway and watching Homeland and Game of Thrones.

When quizzed on their takeaway of preference the answer was decisive.

“Curry — definitely!” Kate said.

“Normally someone goes and picks it up,” William explained, because getting stuff delivered to the palace can be a little fraught … what with security and all.

And if you’re interested to know what other foods young Charlotte likes, we have a few answers:

  1. Cheesy pasta
  2. Salad
  3. Olives
  4. Pizza AND
  5. Spicy curry, of course.

We’re suddenly very, very hungry!
