North West celebrates her great-grandma’s birthday wearing a cute nose ring
You might think that Kris Jenner is the supreme matriarch of the Kardashian family, but these photos could indicate otherwise.

It’s actually Kris’s mum MJ who is the leader of this high-profile pack, and the family has just gathered to celebrate her 85th birthday with a bunch of brand new family snaps.
“Happy 85th MJ! 2019” the photo series were watermarked.
“My squad celebrating MJ’s birthday! #love #family #rideordie❤️” Kris wrote on Instagram, where she shared a bunch of the shots.
Kris was not the only one who shared images from this celebratory shoot. Kim Kardashian shared some too, including a very gorgeous new photo of her holding baby Psalm.
Hang on a minute …
A few things caught Instagram followers’ eyes when these photos were uploaded a few hours ago.
Firstly, in a photo of Kim’s eldest child North West with aunties Khloé and Kourtney and cousins True and Penelope, she’s sporting a nose ring and bindi treading a fine line between cultural appropriation and ’90s nostalgia.
“Fake nose ring alert!!!” Kim posted in her stories (heading of the parent police at the pass.)
But followers really wanted to talk about North’s accessories anyway.
“North’s piercing, 😘😂❤️” one fan wrote, unaware that it was a pretend piercing.
“I’m crying cause north is wearing a bindi,” another fan wrote.
“Kim’s letting North grow up too fast dark makeup/lipstick now piercings,” someone else remonstrated.
Where’s the birthday girl?
Secondly, fans noted that someone was missing from the photos Kris Jenner shared … birthday girl MJ herself!
Many fans saw this as a slight and were extremely vocal in the comments of Kris’s post.
“Lol where is MJ?” one wrote.
“MJs birthday but there aren’t any pics of MJ,” another observed.
“MJ really didn’t make the cut huh,” someone else posted.
Scores of followers reprimanded Kris over MJ’s absence, but really there was more to the story than that.
This very close family had already snapped and shared a bunch of birthday photos with MJ yesterday, as they began their celebrations a whole week before Mary Jo’s actual birthday.
