New photos of the British royal family appeared on Instagram overnight, apparently leaked ahead of an official release by the royals themselves.
They’ve sprung a leak!
The images feature Prince Charles, Camilla, William, Kate, Meghan, Harry, George, Charlotte and Louis – and once they were cut loose online they quickly went viral.
“Please take these down! It’s embargoed until 10 and these were leaked,” a dismayed royal fan account commented alongside one of the images on Instagram, but it appears to be a case of shutting the gate after the horse has bolted.
As naughty as the leaks are we are delighted to see these photos, especially because they feature a six-month-old Prince Louis and his chunky baby legs as well as Charles and Camilla cuddling George and Charlotte. It’s almost too much!
A couple of hours later the official release happened via the royal family’s social media accounts.

The future King turns 70 this week and these photos are the most recent instalment in what looks like a PR push to have us view the Prince of Wales with more affection.
More on the royals:
- Pippa Middleton’s baby boy’s name has been revealed – a month after his birth
- Guess what Prince George and Princess Charlotte call Prince Charles?
- Prince Harry talks about Diana’s death with little boy who also lost his mother
Indeed, there’s been lots of imagery and chatter about what a loving and hands-on grandfather Charles is of late, along with a new BBC documentary Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70.
“He will get down on his knees and crawl about with them for hours, you know making funny noises and laughing and my grandchildren adore him, absolutely adore him,” Camilla asserts of Charles in the new documentary. “He reads Harry Potter and he can do all the different voices and I think children really appreciate that.”
It’s clear that as the Queen nears the end of her reign, the palace is tidying up Charles’ image in earnest as he looks certain to step into the role of monarch sooner rather than later.
Charles’ 70th birthday was also celebrated with a brand new stamp featuring Prince William and Prince Harry standing alongside their dad, the King-in-waiting. If you fancy licking the backs of these three and you live in the UK, then you’re in luck!
