If you’ve been watching Duchess Meghan’s girly trip to New York City with interest from afar, you’re going to love this little catch-up with her baby shower guests.

Meghan kept her baby shower very intimate, with only the closest of buddies attending. It’s being reported that this is the first of two showers, with another being planned once she returns to London.

So who was at Baby Shower Number One? Let us take you through some of the names on that guest list …

The host – Serena Williams

Serena Williams is apparently hosting Meghan’s baby shower, which is reportedly being held at New York’s The Mark Hotel. Serena was spotted dining with Meghan at Polo Bar on Wednesday along with bestie Jessica Mulroney, hospitality consultant pal Markus Andersson and her former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer.

The co-host – Amal Clooney

Brilliant human rights lawyer and George Clooney’s better half, Amal is apparently acting as co-host. She turned up sporting a smashing red jumpsuit and hair so gorgeous it should be illegal.

The best friend – Jessica Mulroney

You probably remember Jess from her appearance at Harry and Meghan’s wedding? She is mum to littlies Ivy, and twins Brian and John who followed Meghan down the aisle as bridesmaid and page boys. Meghan’s long time best friend has spent the last few days catching up with her Duchess buddy.

The work buddy – Abigail Spencer

Abigail starred alongside Meghan in Suits. She played Dana. She’s also been spending a lot of time with the Duchess during her NYC visit accompanying her to The Surrey Hotel for lunch a couple of days ago.

The unexpected guest – Gail King

Oprah’s best friend Gail was seen heading into Meghan’s baby shower, which was a surprise to many of us. Gail didn’t attend Harry and Meg’s wedding, but Oprah did.

The matchmaker? – Misha Nonoo

Fashion designer Misha and Meghan have apparently been friends for years and Misha is apparently the person who set Meg and Harry up on their very first date! That said, some assert that it was Markus Andersson that made the match.

The glam man – Serge Normant

Serge’s website describes him as “undeniably one of the leading hairstylists in the fashion industry today.”

The PR queen – Celine Khavarani

Fashion publicist Celine was also at Meghan’s wedding, seated with the aforementioned Markus Andersson.

The former boss – Bonnie Hammer

Bonnie is the chairman of NBC Universal Cable and Meghan credits much of her career success to the broadcasting heavyweight.

Love from the Beyhive

Do you know who wasn’t at Meghan’s baby shower? Beyoncé and Jay-Z. But that didn’t stop them posting a very intense tribute to the expectant Duchess on Instagram as they accepted their Brits award.

“In honour of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas. Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy,” Beyoncé wrote on Instagram as she shared a series of images and video featuring herself and Jay-Z gazing at a portrait of Meghan wearing a tiara. The portrait is by artist Tim O’Brien and shows Meghan wearing her sorority’s key.

We were as gobsmacked as you are, let it be known! #Amazing

Boy, girl, harp, cot!

Meg’s baby shower is being held in a $100 000 a night penthouse which is apparently the priciest in all of the US. The penthouse is 3000-square-metres, spans two floors and has five bedrooms, six bathrooms. Because pregnant ladies gotta pee and sleep, right?!

Royal fans and media watched on outside The Mark as all kinds of baby products and party paraphernalia was delivered to the Upper East Side venue.

Included in the deliveries were:

  • A harp
  • A fairy floss machine
  • Boxes with travel brand Away stamped on them
  • Crates of Sancerre (a sort of French wine)
  • A $530 Hudson cot by Babyletto
  • Pink roses (a baby girl?!)
  • Blue roses (a baby boy?!)
  • Bags from Crate and Barrel

Meghan will head to Morocco with Harry for an official trip on Saturday, and back to the UK on Monday to settle back in and await the birth of Baby Sussex. The littlest royal is apparently due in April or May.
