The new Australian TV show giving Peppa Pig a run for her money
Move over Peppa Pig, there’s a new kids’ cartoon gracing the small screen that we’re really excited about.
“This is my favourite kids’ show”
The show, titled Bluey, is about an adorable Australian Blue Heeler dog with a wild imagination. It first aired on ABC KIDS earlier this month and the response has been so great, it’s hard to tell who loves the energetic pup more, parents or their children?
Mum of a two-year-old boy, Laura Smith, told Babyology: “Bluey is so funny, it’s all about imaginative play and has some great lessons for kids.”
“This is my favourite kids’ show,” she added. “I’ve never liked Peppa, I don’t know why she has to be so bossy. Bluey and her sister Bingo are adorable.”

Gangs all here
To say Bluey and her four-year-old sister, Bingo, love to role-play is an understatement. They take everyday events, like a trip to the shops and turn them into an adventure – the best part is, it doesn’t take long for their parents, Bandit and Chilli, to join in on the fun.
Bandit and Chilli both work full time and despite how exhausted they are, they always make time to play with their kids. We take our hats off to them for their contagious enthusiasm.

It’s Bluey time!
The pure joy being spread online about this show makes us want to go back and binge-watch every episode so far – with or without our kids (it’s that cute).
“We love this show so much!” One fan wrote on Facebook. “My son runs around saying it’s 8 o’clock!!! It’s bluey time!!! The creators of this show are brilliant, you should be proud!”
Another wrote: OMG my kids are asking if there are Bluey toys yet. I think mum and dad laugh harder than the kids. Great to see a great Australian Series for the whole family… #pleasebringtoysout #Icantsew.”
Good news travels fast
Word of the show has travelled as far as the Netherlands, with one parent wanting to get in on the action: “Please can you tell me, if this show also can be seen on the internet? I live in the Netherlands and we have two blue heelers. My granddaughters would love to see this. It is wonderful.”
Gotta watch them all!
Not sure where to start? Laura enthusiastically rattled off a list of her favourite episodes for us.
“The best episodes so far are Yoga Ball, Bob Bilby, The Pool, Bike, Markets and Wagon Ride,” she says.
So pretty much all of them!
