Dying man meets his two-day-old great granddaughter in heartwarming viral video
A new mum has made her dying grandfather’s life “complete” by introducing him to her newborn daughter in a video that is making everyone tear up.
Heartbreaking and heartwarming
As her beloved “pop-pop” lay on his dying bed four floors above her, Joy Caitlyn Phero was giving birth to her daughter, Chloe May.
In a post thanking the nurses at Virtua Voorhees Hospital for helping her to introduce her baby to her sick grandfather, Charles “Buck” Marshall, she posted a heartwarming video of the meeting.

“My biggest fear”
Every mum has fears about going into labour, but for Joy, her biggest one was that her grandfather, who was nearing his death, might pass away before meeting the newest addition to his family.
Thanks to a nurse named Randi, Joy’s ‘greatest fear’ didn’t eventuate though. Instead, she was able to give her grandfather his final wish.

In the post Joy writes:
“On June 1st, 2018 I gave birth to my beautiful daughter Chloe May Kubat and on June 3rd, 2018, your staff at Virtua Hospital of Voorhees went above and beyond to allow this to happen.”
She then shares a video of Randi wheeling a tiny baby Chloe’s incubator next to her grandfather’s hospital bed that is both heartbreaking and heartwarming.
“He was lying in his hospital bed and Chloe was laying in hers, right by his side,” Joy told CBS News.
“My life is now complete”
After Joy walks toward her grandfather’s bedside and gives him a warm hug, he tells her just what this moment means for him.
“In his words, his life is now complete just because of this moment. I’m so grateful that you gave us this opportunity,” Joy says in the post.
“You don’t understand how much it meant for him just to be able to look at her,” she said, tagging the hospital.
“One hell of an angel”
Sadly Joy’s pop-pop did pass away but his final days were made special by Joy and baby Chloe.
On June 18, Joy posted on Facebook:
“Today we lost an amazing husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather. I am happy you are in a better place and not suffering but at the same time. I’m not even sure how to take this all in. But I know for a fact you would want me to be strong for mum, Molly and dad, I love you pop pop buck RIP. Heaven gained one hell of an angel this morning? until we meet again.”
