You may know that Bachelor in Paradise stars Jade Roper and her hubby Tanner Tolbert welcomed their second baby last week?

Surprise home birth

Their little boy arrived in a big rush on the floor of the couple’s walk-in wardrobe making the pair’s almost two-year-old daughter Emerson a big sister.

In the lead-up to this surprise home birth, the pair called on their Instagram followers for some help with naming the baby they were expecting.

“We can’t decide on a baby name, and we have a top sixteen,” Jade explained on Instagram.

“We need your help!” Tanner continued. “We need you guys to vote!”

Bracket game on Instagram

As you can see the first round of sixteen names included Reed, Seth, Tristan, Caden, Connor, Beckett, Jack, Porter, Brooks, Callum, Landon, Decker, Dean, Easton, Indy and Lance … split into 8 pairs for Instagram followers to vote on.

“Each day, we’re going to narrow it down from 16, to eight, to four, to two, to the championships,” the pair explained.

Jade made it clear that this is just a fun baby name game activity and that it may not influence the child’s eventual name.

“A lot of people say don’t do this because they thought people were going to give comments on names and it was going to ruin it for us, but we’re doing it just for fun,” she insisted.

But in the end, the pair did go with two “winning” names from their list, calling their newborn Brooks Easton Tolbert.

“It’s official! Say hello to Brooks Easton Tolbert!” Jade posted on Instagram a little over a week ago revealing the name with a photo of Brooks lying on a ‘Brooks’ printed blanket.

“Born July 29th at 10:31 pm in our home, weighing 7lbs 9oz and 20 inches long! He has been the sweetest baby and we are soaking in every single moment.”

“I LOVE his name,” one follower wrote approvingly. “Not that any of our opinions truly matter.”

“Yes girl this was my top choice,” another fan posted.

How, tho?

But others picked up on that blanket with Brooks’ name on it. They wanted to know how this all played out and if they REALLY let followers decide.

“How were you able to get this amazing blanket if you didn’t know the name?” one asked.

“Were you just waiting on the blanket to announce his name!?” another follower wanted to know.

“No, we got multiple blankets with different names because we were having such a hard time deciding,” Jade wrote back.

So there you go!

I accidentally gave birth at home last night, in our master closet. I’ve been still processing the shock of this all, as this was not all at what I had planned, but I am so so thankful for each person who helped bring our son into the world safely. I’ll share my whole birth story soon, but long story short, my waters broke and 75 minutes later I gave birth to our healthy baby boy while clutching a bench in our closet. It was one of the scariest moments of my life because I felt so out of control, but Tanner, Tanner’s mom, my mom and the medics and firefighters kept me going when I felt like the world was caving in on me and my unborn baby. I was going to share the happy, cute Instagrammable pics first, but this felt right to me. So incredibly grateful for the support system we had and for this beautiful boy I get to hold in my arms.
