Khloé Kardashian says she will never come between her ex and daughter True
While Khloé Kardashian and her ex Tristan Thompson are no longer together, they do share their beautiful daughter True – and Khloé never wants to come between father and child.
A mother’s love
Khloé recently posted a gorgeous shot on Instagram of herself with her super cute 18-month daughter True. The caption says it all. “Until the end of time, it’s you and I,” she wrote.
However on Monday’s episode of the podcast, On Purpose with Jay Shetty, the celebrity mum revealed how she wants to co-parent and encourage her pro basketball ex-partner to also enjoy a relationship with his baby girl.
“I want to show my daughter that it’s okay and it’s a beautiful thing to also forgive her dad,” she said.
Dealing with co-parenting
The couple split in February this year, after a series of cheating allegations, one involving Khloé’s sister’s best friend Jordyn Woods. Completely devastated, Khloé could no longer cope with Tristan in her life, but she is completely open to a relationship between him and the child they share.
“Oh, it’s hard, it’s not easy for me,” Khloé said on the podcast. “It would be easier for me to keep my daughter away and be like, ‘No, ’cause you hurt me … but he never hurt True. He and I have our own relationship, and then Tristan and True have theirs, and I will never come in-between that. I don’t believe in that.”
It’s all about letting go
The split happened just before True’s first birthday but Khloé kept it together for the sake of her daughter, even inviting Tristan to the celebrations. She felt it was the right thing to do, even though it was incredibly hard.
“I look really calm at her party but I was so nauseous and filled with anxiety the entire day,” she wrote on Twitter at the time.
She also tweeted after the event: “Sometimes our personal emotions get in the way of what is best. I’m so happy I didn’t allow that to happen for the sake of True.”
And now Khloé is continuing to be just as strong and reasonable when it comes to her ex, wanting him to be able to have a relationship with his daughter and not ever wanting to come between the two of them because of her own personal feelings.
Khloé spoke about her own parents on the podcast and how they were “incredible co-parents”. She also talks about her sister Kourtney who is co-parenting her three kids with her ex, Scott Disick.
“As long as it’s not hurting you in any way … if this was hindering Kourtney’s growth or if it hinders my growth, then you also have to put yourself first because you are, in fact, taking care of your children,” she says. “But if it’s not hindering you or hurting you in any way, I think it’s important to work on all relationships,” she added.
