Prince William is preparing to be a dad for the third time in April, but it was his second kiddo, daughter Princess Charlotte, who was on his mind at a recent event.

Tiny dancer

William was at a Marlborough House reception in honour of Commonwealth Day when he spilled the Charlotte beans. He spoke to Joseph Muscat, the Prime Minister of Malta, and the conversation soon turned to their respective daughters.

Mr Muscat and wife Michelle are parents to twin 10-year-old girls, beautifully named Etoila Ella and Soleil Sophie. When the PM revealed his girls were attending stage school, William chimed in with his own theatrical reveal.

“My daughter Charlotte loves dancing,” he told the Prime Minister.

Beautiful manners

Not only does nearly-three-year-old Charlotte love to dance, she knows her way around the etiquette book too. A source close to the palace recently revealed the little princess was “so polite, but also fun and energetic” with “beautiful manners”.  She’s “very sweet and very confident – she’s always chatting away”.

Charlotte, who started nursery school at Willcocks Nursery School earlier this year, is also learning Spanish. Live-in nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo – who hails from Spain – is apparently teaching her.

Pasta fan

It seems that dancing and being bilingual are not the only thing young Charlotte’s keen on. Visiting a young patient at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital in January, Kate told fellow olive lover, four-year-old Rafael Chana that “I used to eat lots and lots of olives when I was little as well.” When Rafael admitted he also loved pasta, Kate said: “Charlotte likes pasta too!”

Charlotte is also learning to play tennis and is a bit of a horse fancier (just like the Queen!) British para-equestrian gold medallist Natasha Baker was chatting to Kate about her daughter, when she revealed Charlotte was following in her granny’s footsteps. Then Natasha told us!

“[Kate] emphasised that Charlotte has this passion for horses and although she doesn’t echo it, she’ll do her best to champion and encourage it.”

The little princess will turn three in May, just a few weeks after her new baby sibling is due to arrive. Her next obsession is obviously being a big sister for the first time!
