There are 5 different ‘types’ of grandmas – which one is your mum, or MIL?
Much is written about parenting ‘types’ (lawnmower, tiger, free-range, etc, etc.), but I’m starting to think these labels aren’t limited to just us mums and dads. Some also apply to the beloved grandmas in our children’s lives, albeit with different titles.
Here are five different grandmother types, which one is your mum or MIL?! Or maybe she’s a hybrid of a few?
4. The, ‘Let’s have some old-fashioned fun’ grandma
This grandma is so cute; she’s like a character from a book from yesteryear.
She will bake scones with your toddler (dressing him in a frilly apron as he’s perched next to her on the stool), make paper planes with him (because she actually remembers how), mends your little one’s clothes because she’s of the thinking that a ‘stitch in time saves nine’ and she also has the sewing skills.
This grandma type will also never, ever, flick on the telly to entertain them. She has a plethora of old-fashioned fun up her sleeve – including donning raincoats and gumboots on a wet day to jump in puddles.
