The surprising reason people think Duchess Kate is having a baby this year
Believe it or not there are robust rumours swirling that the Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant again. Wait, what?!
Surely not?!
Prince William and Duchess Kate – who turned 37 this week – welcomed their third child Prince Louis in April of 2018. Now some experts are convinced that the couple are in the family way again.
Which experts? You might be wondering. Well it’s the betting community, that’s who!
There’s been a flurry of activity backing a Will and Kate baby for 2019. A recent slashing of the odds on a fourth Cambridge baby has happened because many assert Kate’s already in the family way.
“Punters have been quick to place bets on the Duchess of Cambridge’s rumoured pregnancy,” Express UK reports. “Bookies odds are currently in frenzy, with the chance of Kate announcing a fourth pregnancy in 2019 at 5/2.”
Betting agency Ladbrokes have 8/1 odds on a new Cambridge baby with rep Alex Apati noting: “2019 may be Harry and Meghan’s year on the baby front but the latest odds suggest Kate isn’t far behind with baby number four possibly on the way.”
There doesn’t appear to be any concrete proof at all that these assertions are true, but Express UK are noting the palace has not denied the rumours, which frankly doesn’t seem the strongest evidence.

No tell-tale signs
Wait. What? It’s hard to imagine that Kate is already pregnant, given that all three of her pregnancies have been revealed early in the first trimester.
The Duchess has suffered hyperemesis gravidarum – an acute pregnancy illness which caused her to be hospitalised – with George, Charlotte and Louis. With her previous pregancies, Kate’s had to cancel her official duties because she’d been so incredibly unwell.
There’s been no such cancellations and we saw Kate looking happy and healthy on Sunday when she and William joined the Queen for Sunday service at St Mary’s.
Kate’s also looking very busy next week. She’s slated to attend several engagements as the work year begins again in earnest.
Add Kate’s lack of morning sickness to the fact that Louis is only 9-months-old and it seems very doubtful she’s currently expecting a baby. That said, perhaps later in the year it might be a different story. Or the royal couple might be happy with their gorgeous three and be done and dusted with the baby-making.
Time will tell … and any cancelled engagements might provide the very first clue!
