Sobbing mum-of-3 Kourtney Kardashian shares “the guilt I carry every day”
The new season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians premiered yesterday, and a family blow-up between sisters Kim, Khloé and Kourtney revealed how conflicted Kourt feels about her part in the show.
Kim’s way or the highway
The program saw a very busy and important Kim trying to organise her baby shower, a product meeting and a family Christmas card shoot. Things descend into sweary mud-slinging as the sisters – led by Kim – attempt to align their schedules so everyone can be at the Christmas card shoot. Some very terse words were exchanged.
Kourtney made it clear that she was only available during the day, and wanted to be at home in the evening to spend time with her kids. Kim was not keen to shift her (to her) important meetings and accommodate Kourt’s preferred timing.
It all blew up and the notoriously deadpan Kourtney ended up distraught, in tears and walking out. She had tried to explain that she was pretty much done with the pressures of Kardashian business and that she really just wanted to focus on her kids and a much quieter life. She tried to clearly put some boundaries in place – to no avail.

“What’s natural to me is being a mother”
A furious Kim accused Kourt of being “the least exciting to look at” of the sisters anyway, and scathingly noted she had no passion for any business ventures. Then she told her to leave. The implication is that Kourt is boring and unambitious, and somehow a less worthy member of the family.
Kourt was simply trying to express that she wanted to be out of the spotlight and that being a full-time, hands-on mum was what mattered most to her.
“You guys just have really different values than me. I choose to be a [full-time] mother to my three kids. I’m not here looking for another job. I already work enough — more than I would like to. What’s natural to me is being a mother.”
“The guilt I carry every day”
She noted that her sisters judge her mercilessly and assume that because she’s less career-driven at this point in her life, that her needs are less important. Her schedule is last on the list, with Kim’s meetings deemed a priority. It’s not surprising she’s at the end of her tether.
“All everyone f—ing says is, ‘What’s your job?’ ” a frustrated Kourtney says in the premiere episode. “If I had enough money, I wouldn’t work. I wouldn’t do the show. I would be a full-time mom. That’s what I want to do.”
“The guilt I carry every day from not being at home when they get in from school, not doing homework — my kids suffer,” she sobbed, truly distraught.
The quiet life
Kim was unmoved, later accused Kourtney of using “therapy speak” dismissing her sister’s distress.
It’s also good to note that Kourtney’s just coming out of a stressful, abusive relationship with the father of her kids, Scott Disick. After years of surviving and living in the shadow of Scott’s addiction issues, she’s finally at a point where she can assess what she really wants for herself. It seems that what she really wants after so many volatile years is peace, is to take the reins back- and establish a drama-free, kid-focused life that doesn’t involve being dominated or side-lined by someone louder. #HelloKim

The sisters later made it clear that they’ve moved on from this stoush, but not before Kourtney reconfirmed her position on Twitter – and expressed her sadness at the lack of familial support her quieter life and “full-time mom” longings garner. #TeamKourt
