“Babies are addictive”: Megan Gale shares honest post about “baby making shop”
Megan Gale and Shaun Hampson are mum and dad to two beautiful kiddos, but Megan says they’re (reluctantly) shutting up the baby-making shop.
It’s been very busy
This model mum and her fiancé, AFL player Shaun Hampson, are parents to eight-month-old daughter Rosie, four-year-old son River and cafe baby the Ascot Food Store, the family business they opened late last year.
It’s been a busy time, with preschoolers, pregnancy, engagements, newborns and career shifts, and Megan’s been reflecting on just how much life has changed – and what lies ahead. Sharing a throwback photo of herself when she was pregnant with Rosie, Megan says she’s probably shut up shop when it comes to making babies, and she’s feeling a little conflicted about it. It’s a relatable state of mind, because as Megan says growing a little human is “an incredible experience”.
” … almost 6 months pregnant with my Rosie girl,” Megan wrote. “Shaun and I have (un)officially said we’ve closed up the baby making shop. (Meaning he’s happy as is – done and dusted) I guess, for the most part, I am too.”
“My god being pregnant and giving birth is such an incredible experience,” she continued, “and an absolute gift that I’ll admit … I’m finding it a little challenging to get my head (& heart) around the fact that this is it.”
Megan admits watching her youngest growing up is bittersweet.
“Watching Rosie go through all her beautiful little baby phases and as she goes through each one I can’t help but have those ‘that’s the last time’ moments. I can certainly see why people go back for more. Babies are addictive!!”
Gotta say as much as she’s floating the idea that she’s done, it’s sounding an awful lot like the decision has not been rubber-stamped just yet!

And honestly who can blame her for teetering on the mind almost made up abyss. These two make the most adorable kids and they seem to take parenting in their stride pretty brilliantly too.
Babies, engagements, funerals
Megan also shared a little more about her and Shaun’s engagement on Instagram, admitting that they’ve done little to prep for their future wedding – because they’ve had quite a lot of things going on.
“We haven’t planned or organised a single, damn thing,” she admitted. “I’m the worst bride-to-be! Although in that 12 month period I was kind of busy growing and raising a baby soooo …”
Megan and Shaun met back in 2011 and it’s been a whirlwind since then, Shaun’s dad sadly passed away in April 2014, River was born a few weeks later in May and Megan’s own father passed away later that year, in October. Megan suffered a miscarriage between River’s birth and Rosie’s and finally conceiving her latest “little bun” after struggling to fall pregnant.
We wish these two so much happiness, because they truly deserve all the very best things.
