If your kids are all “hakuna matata” thanks to the latest The Lion King movie, then you’ll probably be asked to create a Lion King party this year.

We’ve got you covered! Here’s how to bring the jungle inside your home.

The cake

A simple round cake, fringed in leaves from the garden with a Simba figurine and candle on top is doable. Of course, you can make it even more ‘wow’ if you want to try and copy this amazing sunset frosting idea by Joy Lodovilla.

How cute is this cupcake lion’s mane? Thanks for the idea, Lindsey Abram.

Amazing cakes created this incredible Lion King cake featuring some serious marzipan art, and well. It’s Ah-MAZING!

The party food

Put some health on the party food table with this lion’s mane veggie sticks and dip idea from Patty Thomas.

Lion dip

Little Wish Parties came up with the simple idea of dipping Oreo biscuits in white chocolate, then dotting them in milk chocolate to create ‘animal print cookies’ – CUTE!

The fun

For the craft table, make this simple lion out of a paper plate and pasta by Kid Transit. Instead of sticking on the googly eyes, you could cut out holes and turn it into a mask! Other ideas are ‘pin the tail on the lion’ and ‘jungle limbo’ using a rope with leaves wrapped around it so it looks like a vine.

The decorations

Bring the jungle inside by using leaves as place mats and twist ivy or vines here and there. Inspo from Ceileto Mio.

The lolly bag

Hessian bags, available from discount shops, instead of plastic will look more on theme. Alternatively, a paper bag tied with string and threaded through a leaf will also look great.
