16. Splatter paint studio
We love this simple sensory activity for kids of all ages from Fun Littles, but fair warning – this is most definitely an outdoor (and old clothes) activity!
Turn a large box into a splatter paint studio by taping art paper or butcher’s paper to the inside surfaces – then give your kids differently textured balls and toys to experiment with. Let them dip the objects into the paint and give them free rein to go a bit wild – they may like to throw their items into the box to create funky splatters, or get up close and use their item as a stamp to create interesting patterns. Once they’re done, you can save their masterpieces and reuse the box for more messy fun!
