It’s amazing how quickly you forget those little things about being pregnant.

Amy Schumer, Hollywood actress, comedian and star of Netflix show, Growing took me right back to third trimester with her most recent Insta video.

“You put your toe in … and try it from behind”

Perched on the side of the bed, pregnancy pillow in disarray on the floor, Amy demonstrates the incredible difficulty of sliding on your socks, when you’re SO pregnant.

“You put your toe in … and then you try it from behind. And then you just kind of … slowly will the sock up your foot!” the actress says, bringing her right leg up onto the bed and beginning to put her sock on one-handed from that angle, eventually succeeding. “And that‘s pregnant.”

There’s so much to love about Amy’s approach to pregnancy.

The hilarious Hollywood star (who is due any day now/right about the same time as Duchess Meghan!) hasn’t held back on the detail of what it feels like to be pregnant.

Getting real on the pregnancy detail

And how fabulous to see in this video the detritus of pregnancy life. Pregnancy pillows that have dropped off the side of the bed and a huge bottle of water rests on the bedside table.

Amy herself wearing the soft trackies so favoured by almost all of us in those last few weeks of pregnancy (and beyond!). Not to mention messy hair and that kind of faraway stare of pregnant women.

Yet for all the laughs Amy has given us during her pregnancy, it hasn’t been the easiest ride. In the early months of her pregnancy, she dealt with hyperemesis gravidarum, the most debilitating form of morning sickness.

But it seems not even this pretty shitty experience can steal her sense of humour:

“If you had a good pregnancy like if you’re someone who enjoyed being pregnant, I just hope your car flips over,” Schumer says in the “Growing” trailer. “That’s what I wish for you.”

Best of luck for the next few weeks, Amy,  we can’t wait to see your take on childbirth!
