It has reached that time of the year again, Christmas lists are starting to be written, menus planned and recipes researched. Luckily we are total Christmas tragics around here and we have done some of the leg work for you. So grab a cuppa, or a wine (we don’t judge) and enjoy this bunch of fab Christmas treats we’ve put together.

You know that old saying, “an edible gift is a good gift”? Maybe that’s just something I made up. Anyway, festive baking doesn’t have to be tricky. Check this mouth-watering Christmas rocky road bark from Fat Mum Slim. With only four ingredients – yep, four – it’s got to be the easiest way to say an end-of-year thanks to your child’s kinder or preschool teachers.

Popcorn christmas gift

Here’s another super simple and affordable idea. Popcorn In a Jar makes a perfect school friend gift. Or pimp it up by popping it and turning it into this decadent Parmesan Truffle Popcorn, the perfect accompaniment to a favourite Christmas movie .

For something a bit trickier, you might like to try your hand at Hot Chocolate Spoons or Gingerbread Cookies in a Jar.

Gumdrop Garland

For an edible decoration that is really simple I can’t go past these Gumdrop Christmas Garlands by Martha Stewart. If you want to try your hand at something a bit more challenging you could always just whip up Bakerella’s piped Santa cookies. She is the queen of cake pops after all.

Christmas recipes from Sprinkle Bakes

I love the idea of making four different types of biscuits out of one dough so this Viennese dough recipe (above left) is my personal fave. But coming in at a close second would have to be the spectacular Christmas Candy Cheesecake (above right) because it’s just so pretty.

Peanut butter kiss

We haven’t forgotten all you gluten-free people, so for you I have included these flourless peanut butter kiss biscuits (above) and some super cute Twinkle Star gluten-free biscuits (below). Both should make for some happy little bellies.

Roll out Sugar cookies

If you want to avoid turning on the oven this summer some no-bake treats could be the way to go. These chocolate balls (below) are easy enough for the kids to whip up and are a good alternative to rum balls.  Or if you want to get all sneaky-healthy the easy snack bites are raw, vegan, gluten-free and will bring you good karma. (I may have made that last bit up.) Merry Christmas cooking!
