Duchess Meghan reveals her bump (PLUS the best reactions to the royal baby!)
Last night, ahead of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first official Australian appearance today, the pair grew tired of the cloak-and-dagger coats, frills and folders they’d been using to conceal Meghan’s pregnancy – and the Palace confirmed that they are indeed expecting a baby. Hooray!
Spring delivery
Ta-dah! Meghan took her bump out for an unencumbered spin earlier this morning, at an engagement at Sydney’s Admiralty House. Beaming in a fitted, sleeveless white frock, it’s obvious that the Duchess is living her best life on our fair shores. Not only that, she’s shifted her posture and relaxed considerably, no longer holding her hands in front of her belly. What a relief that must be!
The baby is due in the northern hemisphere’s Spring and will be seventh in line to the throne.
The couple apparently broke the news to family members at Eugenie’s wedding on Friday, something they’ve copped flack for on social media. But the thing is, the very slight Meghan has been sporting a shifting waistline for a few weeks now. Had they broken the news before the wedding, all eyes would have been on Meghan on Eugenie’s big day. Plus, there’s only so many props you can hold in front of your middle and coats are not really appropriate in the Australian late Spring.
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” the palace wrote in the official announcement.”
“Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”

Delighted and pleased
So how did the royal family respond to the news, you might be wondering?
Well the Queen, perhaps tipped off a little earlier than the rest of the family, gave Harry a brand new title on Saturday in celebration.
“The Queen has been pleased to appoint The Duke of Sussex as a Personal Aide-de-Camp to Her Majesty with effect from 13th October, 2018,” the Court Circular announced.
Harry’s grandpa, dad, step mum, brother and sister-in-law were reportedly very stoked too.
“The Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted for the couple and were able to congratulate them on Friday at the wedding in person,” Express UK reports.
“Ms Doria Ragland is very happy about the lovely news and she looks forward to welcoming her first grandchild,” they go on to say of Meghan’s mum.
Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, responded to Meg and Harry’s news by immediately tweeting about her daughter Eugenie’s wedding. As you do. #WeddingsVsBabies
The Duchess of Cambridge’s very pregnant sister Pippa Middleton’s response was to get in first, apparently. She’s just been seen entering the St Mary’s Hospital’s Lindo Wing with her hubby James, ready to deliver her own bundle of joy very, very soon too!
“Love and congratulations”
But it’s not just the royal family that are brimming with excitement. Celebrities and regular punters have been sharing their thoughts on the next royal baby too …

A wildlife park was a little miffed #oink
So when a new #RoyalBaby is announced, it trends nationally in the UK, but when we announce our new baby Warty Piglets the news doesn't even travel as far as Rotherham.
