Content warning: This post discusses miscarriage.

Miscarriage, stillbirth and newborn death support service SANDS tell us “up to 1 in 4 confirmed pregnancies end in miscarriage before 20 weeks, but many other women miscarry without having realised they are pregnant.”

Some very high-profile types have spoken out about enduring miscarriage, in the hopes that it might help others work through their own losses – and realise that this experience does not discriminate.

Carrie's mum to a little boy called Isaiah and expecting another baby, but it's been a really, really difficult road.

“2017 just wasn’t how I imagined it,” Carrie recently told CBS. “I’d kind of planned that 2017 was, you know, going to be the year that I work on new music, and I have a baby. We got pregnant early 2017, and didn’t work out.”

Not only did that pregnancy not “work out”, Carrie suffered two subsequent miscarriages – one in 2017 and one in early 2018.
