Chrissy Teigen reveals her due date – and some bonkers baby name options
Chrissy Teigen trotted her gorgeous and funny self out on The Ellen Show yesterday, spilling the beans on when baby number two would be showing up – and some names she’s got on her shortlist.
“It was a tough one for me”
Ellen and Chrissy had seen each other very recently, at Ellen’s birthday party, and they were keen to chat about what went down. Ellen pointed out that her pregnancy meant Chrissy was unable to drink. The mum of almost two agreed it was basically torture.
“I mean, a margarita. There’s nothing like it. So to not be able to indulge in that with Jennifer Lawrence is heartbreaking. It was a tough one for me,” Chrissy confirmed, noting that Reese Witherspoon was circulating Ellen’s party with a tray of shots and there was even absinthe on hand for people who wanted to get a little bit Midnight In Paris.
Spring chicken
The Lip Sync Battle star is already mum to daughter Luna with award-wining singer John Legend. Chrissy confirmed the little boy she’s expecting is still quite a few months away.
“I’m having a baby boy in the spring. I’ll tell you — it’s June!” Chrissy said. She’d previously noted that everyone is thinking she’s about to deliver any day now. Which is rude.
When Ellen quizzed her on potential names, Chrissy said they were kind of stumped.
“Boy names are really tough and I don’t think he will even have a middle name because we can’t even come up with a first name.”
“Luna was just perfect”
Luna’s name came much easier, apparently, freaking adorably inspired by nostalgia and the night sky.
“There was a blood moon happening. It was a really beautiful night. Really big vivid red moon and just gorgeous. I have this love for space and I think about space camp all the time and my days at space camp as a youngster. And so I thought Luna was just perfect and she’s kind of the perfect Luna.”
“What about Lunar for him?” Ellen quipped, going in hard on the “r” pronunciation. “Or what about Urban Legend?”
“I’m toying with Dick Legend a lot,” Chrissy shot back, laughing. “Can I say that?”
“You can say that just don’t name him that,” Ellen returned.
“Everyone was like why don’t you do the JJ thing, the John junior, but John and his ego was like, ‘I don’t want him to feel like he has to live up to that. And I was like ‘Wow, you are a jerk.’”
“Trying to live my life”
Chrissy delighted fans recently with a funny topless photo shared on Instagram, taking “barefoot and pregnant” to the next level with a sort of “bare breasted and pregnant” spin. The image showed her whipping up a salad, with modesty salads covering her boobs – and what we think is some toasting pine nuts, thrown in for good measure.
“Plz don’t shame me I am a strong proud salad making woman just being natural and trying to live my life,” Chrissy captioned the photo.
Needless to say fans went into meltdown in wholehearted approval – and #strongproudsaladmakingwoman is many’s new catch-cry.
