Royal enthusiasts are already beside themselves, as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding looms ever closer, so it’s fair to say that Meghan Markle confirming baby plans over the weekend has them squee-ing in delight!

Pretty much every move Meghan and Harry make is being analysed and doted on, sparking think pieces on everything from married names to tradition-breaking cakes to body language.
Everyone seems pretty darned stoked that Meghan’s shaking things up at the Palace (except the people who love old school fruitcake at weddings, which MM has thrown out in favour of a lemon and elderflower treat.)

For their wedding cake Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have chosen pastry chef Claire Ptak, owner of the London-based bakery @violetcakeslondon. The couple have asked Claire to create a lemon elderflower cake that will incorporate the bright flavours of spring. It will be covered with buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers? Claire Ptak, who was raised in California, focuses on using seasonal and organic ingredients in her cakes. Ms. Markle previously interviewed Chef Ptak for her lifestyle website The Tig. Prince Harry and Ms. Markle are looking forward to sharing the cake with guests at their wedding at Windsor Castle on May 19th. ?PA
“We will need the whole thing”
The latest Meghan goings-on involves a very clear indication that she and Harry – who will wed on May 19 – really are planning to have babies.
Prince Harry and Meghan were on an offical visit to Belfast, chatting to Sinead and Adam Murphy who head up nursery product company, Shnuggle. Checking out a Moses basket, changing mat and clever non-slip, sit-up baby bath, Meghan noted, “I am sure at one point we will need the whole thing. It’s very sweet.”
It was at this point that people started knitting booties – if you listen very closely you can hear a worldwide click-clacking!
“With an upcoming marriage it’s likely there is going to be an announcement in the next few years. No pressure on the lovely couple! That’s the worst thing when you get married – people are just waiting,” a delighted Adam Murphy told Hello Magazine.
Adam’s “next few years” prediction is a diplomatic prediction and – while we respect Meghan and Harry’s own timeline on this – we’re excited by the prospect of a baby cousin for Prince George and Princess Charlotte some time before they go to university, thank you.
A more on-message Sinead Murphy was keen to stress how much the royals liked the baby things they saw.
“They seemed very engaged with the products. Harry was particularly interested in the bath … As soon as he saw the bum bump [which stops the baby slipping down] he understood immediately. He said, ‘Oh, non-slip.'”
The fact that Harry knows his way around the challenges of bathing a wriggly baby makes us love him just that little bit more.
Later, the pair lunched at Belfast’s oldest pub, the Crown Liquor Saloon. Meghan ordered the traditional Irish Stew while Prince Harry chose a bolstering Sausages and Champ.
“We’re very excited to be here,” she said on arrival at the pub, explaining that they’d scoped out the menu online, concerned with making the best lunch decision: “What do you order? We need to make the right choices. Irish stew? I like the sound of that.”

Invitations to the wedding of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle, which will take place at Windsor Castle on May 19, have been issued in the name of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales. Guests have been invited to the service at St George's Chapel and to the lunchtime reception at St George's Hall, which is being given by Her Majesty The Queen. The invitations follow many years of Royal tradition and have been made by @barnard_and_westwood. They feature the Three-Feathered Badge of the Prince of Wales printed in gold ink. ? @pa
