Research has shown that healthy women and babies fare best when under the continuous care of a midwife. We know how important they are, but it appears that we’re not supporting midwives enough.

Hannah Dahlen is a Professor in Midwifery at Western Sydney University. She explains what conditions are like for midwives, and why many end up leaving the profession.
