What it means to find belonging when you’re adopted

No one story can tell the experience of adoption, but author and social justice lawyer Dara Read wants fostered and adopted kids to know that they are special and loved. Dara always knew she was adopted and had a wonderful childhood. But she also says that there was something deep inside that yearned towards a different kind of belonging, one that only comes when you understand where you have come from.

Dara has written a picture books for kids called We Love You Hundreds and Thousands and in this interview she talks about the complex and nuanced feelings that come from being adopted.
