It can be very unsettling when your child wakes up in the middle of the night terrified and crying. It can be very difficult to calm and console them. So how do you know if they are having a nightmare or a night terror? Dr Chris Seton is a paediatric and adolescent sleep specialist at the Woolcock Institute.
