Go surfing through websites that focus on mums and it won’t take long until you come across the expression “adrenal fatigue”. It’s a condition that apparently occurs when women are stressed and tired. Sound familiar? It could be any mum on the planet. But dig a little further and it’s clear that the medical profession is sceptical about the existence of adrenal fatigue. Dr Rosie Worsley, an endocrinologist who specialises in women’s health, explains what our adrenal glands do, why so many women feel that “adrenal fatigue” is a real thing and what our fatigue might actually be telling us
