Before she transitioned, Alison and her wife were a typical heterosexual, cisgendered, nuclear family: mum, dad and three kids living in the suburbs of Sydney. But after the birth of their third child Alison felt that something wasn’t right.

She talks about what it was like to be a parent of young children in a small semi-rural community, and the impact her transition had on her family.
