A new project getting women back into work post-lockdown
Women have been disproportionally impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Mothers in particular have put their children before their jobs, as the impossible juggle of work and home schooling became too hard. More women lost more hours of work and in some cases, their jobs, at a higher rate than men. Now Future Women and The Gidget Foundation are doing something about this imbalance. With the support of the Australian Government they have launched The Jobs Academy, a program designed to get more women back into the workforce.
Jamila Rizvi is the Chief Creative Officer at Future Women. Jamila talks about why this project was necessary, and who can apply for the limited positions.
